What is Geography?

Students in our classroom partnered up with their neighbors in Ms. Anderson's room to explore geography. First they shared what they thought geography is. Then they took a quiz on Kahoot to see what was involved in geography. The classroom buzzed with energy as they tried their bast to answer multiple choice questions quickly. In the end, they have a better idea about geography and are ready to move forward in our World Geography unit during November.

Cup Building Excitement

Students love building structures, especially ones that are taller than themselves!

Preschool Buddy Enjoyment

We are enjoying our time with our Reading Buddies from Ms. Scribner and Ms. Chamber's preschool classes. Here are a few pics from last Friday afternoon.

Multiplication Strategies

This poster shows the many strategies students are using to solve multiplication problems so far in third grade. The strategies are organized from the least efficient (bottom of chart) to the most efficient (top of the chart). When we introduce more strategies, I will update the blog. We are also focusing on equal groups for both multiplication and division work. We are quite excited to be working with multiplication!

Sports Day

We earned another fun event by filling our fishbowl. Students chose a Sports Day and dressed in their favorite sport's attire. They also emptied the fishbowl into the large aquarium by the office. They chose to split their collection of fish and pebbles between Mr. Bloom and Ms. Goodnow. The one who has the most will be "kissing a fish" at the All School Morning Meeting.
